Yolanda Ruiz de Zarobe is Associate Professor of English Linguistics at the University of the Basque Country. She has been the main researcher of several national projects granted by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Science and Innovation. At the moment she is the main researcher of the national project FFI-2012- 31811 (Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness), which involves several national and international researchers and experts. She has also participated in a number of European projects like the Molan Network, a project funded by the European Commission under the Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP). She is a member of the editorial board of several journals such as the International Journal of Bilingual Education and Bilingualism.

She has been a visiting scholar at several universities: Oxford University (UK), Georgetown University (USA), Trinity College (Dublin), the University of Nevada, Reno (USA) and McGill University (Montreal), among others.

She teaches undergraduate courses in English Morphology at the University of the Basque Country and Masters Courses in several universities, mainly on CLIL and multilingualism.

Her recent publications have focused on:

- Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL).

Her book Content and Foreign Language Integrated Learning: Contributions to Multilingualism in European Contexts, co-edited with Juan Sierra and Francisco Gallardo del Puerto, received the Spanish Association of Applied Linguistics award in 2013.

- The acquisition of morphosyntactic and lexical aspects of English as a third language.

- Multilingualism.
