Professor María del Pilar García Mayo, main researcher of the Language and Speech group, has been renewed in her position as member of the Governing Council of the Spanish State Research Agency until 2027. She has been a member of the Governing Council since June 2021 as a scientist of recognized prestige. Moreover, the rector of the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, Professor Antonio López Díaz, has appointed her as a member of the External Advisory Committee of the Linguistic and Literary Research Institute (iLTIUS) founded at that university.
Professor García Mayo was recently interviewed in the journal Language Teaching for Young Learners (John Benjamins) and has also been invited to join the editorial boards of the journals Annual Review of Applied Linguistics and the Cambridge Elements in Second Language Acquisition series, being the only Spanish representative.
