In this chapter the five dimensions of the Directed Motivational Current (Dörnyei et al., 2014) are used as a framework to make connections between different theoretical aspects of motivation and the practical data gathered in language classrooms. Theory and practice, diverse educational contexts and different teaching approaches are brought together with the aim of arriving at a better understanding and a more integrated view of motivation in second foreign language learning.
