This study presents the results of two questionnaires administered to language teachers and students so as to obtain information about their use of and views on computers and the Internet as related to language learning/teaching. The analysis of the surveys revealed that both groups of stakeholders feel the enhancement of the interactive and collaborative dimension of language learning to be particularly problematic, probably due to technical and pedagogical limitations. Therefore, our view is that the development of proper interactive and collaborative functionalities in computer-assisted or online language courses is a must.
