Dinali Ariyasinghe

Dinali Ariyasinghe is a PhD student supervised by Professor David Lasagabaster at the University of the Basque Country. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) from the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. Her graduate studies focus on the field of Linguistics, which was also obtained from the same university, 

Addressing practical concerns which occur in the English as a Second Language (ESL) Classroom, Dinali has presented her research papers at numerous conferences organized by universities in Thailand, Malaysia, Maldives, Turkey, Indonesia and Japan.  As a young researcher, for papers she presented,  Dinali has won a couple of awards for “Best Research Paper” at research conferences both in Sri Lanka and Malaysia.

In addition, Dinali has taught in ESL and EFL settings for nearly a decade, in higher education context as well as in secondary education context. Her areas of specialization include: English Language, Applied Linguistics, English for Medical Purposes and Business Communication. Currently, she works as a lecturer in English attached to a state University in Sri Lanka.

Her PhD dissertation focuses on the impact of AI in the context of English Medium Instruction in Higher Education.
