Elin Ruth

Elin Ruth received her MA in Education in 2013 and has since taught English and Swedish to learners in adult education and at university. In October 2021, she started her PhD studies in English and Education at Luleå University of Technology in Sweden, where she is part of the doctoral school PROFS conducting practice-based educational research.

Elin takes a particular interest in EFL writing instruction, and her PhD project explores the possibilities and challenges of collaborative writing with young learners aged 10–12. Her compilation thesis encompasses studies of young learners’ dyadic interaction in collaborative writing as well as analyses of their individually and collaboratively written narrative texts. Elin’s PhD project also includes EFL teachers’ beliefs about collaborative writing in Swedish primary education and young learners’ views on engaging in collaborative writing.

In addition to her research, Elin teaches creative writing and English courses targeting pre-service teachers at Luleå University of Technology. In spring 2025, she is visiting the LASLAB research group at the University of the Basque Country as an Erasmus+ student.
