Michal Piotr Gostynski

I am Michał, a PhD student in the Language Acquisition in Multilingual Settings (LAMS) program at the University of the Basque Country and I am supervised by Professor Dr. María del Pilar García Mayo. I am interested in performative language teaching and performative poetry in foreign language teaching. The title of my PhD dissertation is, “Performing poetry in Polish: the impact of performative poetry on oral skills in a Polish as a foreign language classroom”.

I hold two Bachelor’s degrees: in Filmology (University of Lodz, Poland) and Croatian Literature (Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Poland). I earned my double Master’s degree in Polish Language and Comparative Literature from the University of Zagreb in Croatia. I completed two postgraduate study programs on Pedagogy (University of Szczecin, Poland) and Teaching Polish as a Foreign Language (Adam Mickiewicz University). Currently, I am working as a Lecturer of Polish Language at the School of Foreign Languages at Ankara University. I have profound experience in teaching language to students with different proficiency levels. Prior to Ankara University, I worked at Adam Mickiewicz University and in Polish Schools in Zagreb and Berlin. Along with my focus on foreign language teaching, I am interested in combining movement and speech in general. I graduated from  the one-year Dance Intense program in Tanzfabrik in Berlin, and attended many workshops on theater (including physical theater), drama, and contemporary dance.
