Izaskun Arratibel Irazusta

Izaskun Arratibel holds a PhD in Language Acquisition in Multilingual Settings (LAMS) from the University of the Basque Country (UPV-EHU). Her dissertation, entitled “The use of previously-known languages in young L3 English learners from a cognitive and sociocultural perspective”, was supervised by Dr. María Martínez-Adrián and was awarded the highest mark, “cum laude”, being also proposed for the Outstanding PhD dissertation award. Apart from that, she obtained her bachelor’s degree in English Philology from the University of the Basque Country (2013) and she also holds two master’s degrees: MA in Language Acquisition in Multilingual Settings from the University of the Basque Country (2015) and MA in Education Training for Professional, Secondary and Language Teachers from the International University of La Rioja (UNIR) (2016). She worked for several years as a research assistant at the Language and Speech group at the UPV-EHU and, currently, she is working as an English teacher and International Relations coordinator at a vocational education school in the Basque Country.

• The acquisition of vocabulary.
