María Martínez Adrián

María Martínez Adrián is currently an Associate Professor at the University of the Basque Country where she received her PhD. in English Philology in 2006 with a thesis entitled “The role of the L2 in the acquisition of L3 German word order”. She was also a teacher at the Public University of Navarre for two years. She has been a visiting scholar at the Albert-Ludwigs Universität Freiburg (Germany) and at the University of Iowa (USA). Her current teaching involves undergraduate courses in English Language and Linguistics in the B.A. in English Studies, as well as postgraduate courses in the Master’s program in Language Acquisition in Multilingual Settings. At present, she is the Academic Secretary of the Department of English, German and Translation and Interpretation Studies, a member of the Academic Commission of the MA programme Language Acquisition in Multilingual Settings, a member of the FIA commission of AEDEAN- Spanish Association for English and American Studies and an assessor for the Spanish State Research Agency. From 2016 to 2020 she was the Coordinator of the Panel Language Teaching and Acquisition of AEDEAN and from 2020 to 2022 a member of the AESLA Scientific Committee.

  • The application of form-focused instruction in English pronunciation
