Yolanda Ruiz de Zarobe

Yolanda Ruiz de Zarobe is Professor of Applied Linguistics at the University of the Basque Country, UPV/EHU. She has been the principal investigator of several national projects granted by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Science and Innovation. At the moment she is the main researcher of the national project FFI2015-63715-P (Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness), which incorporates several national and international researchers and experts. She has also participated in a number of European projects, some of them funded by the European Commission under the Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP). She is a member of the editorial board of several journals such as the International Journal of Bilingual Education and Bilingualism or the International Journal of Immersion and Content-based Language Education. She has given invited talks and keynote speeches at universities and conferences in Europe, the USA, Australia and Asia.  

Research Interests

Her recent publications have focused on:– Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL).Her book Content and Foreign Language Integrated Learning: Contributions to Multilingualism in European Contexts, co-edited with Juan Sierra and Francisco Gallardo del Puerto, received the Spanish Association of Applied Linguistics award in 2013.- The acquisition of morphosyntactic and lexical aspects of English as a third language.Multilingualism.. In 2018 she has co-edited two Special Issues with Roy Lyster, both at the International Journal of Bilingual Education and Bilingualism.. Instructional Practices and Teacher Development in CLIL and Immersion School Settings (2018, issue 3).
